ABOUT US

RSS Feeds

RSS (or Really Simple Syndication) feeds are free content feeds from Web sites, including Here Is The City, that contain article headlines, summaries and links back to full-text articles on the web. Instead of you having to go to websites to see if they've written a new article or feature, you can use RSS to get them to tell you every time they have something new.

WHAT DO I NEED TO READ RSS?

To start using RSS, you need a special news reader or aggregator that displays RSS content feeds from Web sites you select. There are many different news readers available, many of which are free of charge. Most are available as desktop software that you download and install on your computer. Several Web-based news readers are available as well.

Top Firms Finally Hit By H1N1 Threat

It's been a long time coming, but the H1N1 threat has finally hit Wall Street - not the virus itself though, but anger from lawmakers and activist groups who are annoyed that some financial markets professionals might be getting the vaccine at a time when hospitals are experiencing shortfalls, and the vulnerable in society aren't being taken care of.  more

Why You've Been Inexplicably Dumped

Contrary to what Loréal adverts tell us, there are pluses to getting older - wisdom, bigger pay cheques, decent holidays, a swanky postcode. But as we become increasingly selective about our homes, cars, clothes and food, we also can’t help getting pickier about our partners.  more

Unemployed? Cash Is On The Way

The market is picking up. That's the common refrain I've been hearing from recruiters for the last four months or so. Well, I, for one, do not think it is really picking up because it hasn't translated into more interviews, let alone job offers, for me.  more

Fashion From the Dark Side

You wouldn’t think that fashion designing and banking would mix. The two worlds only seem to meet on on a place like Bond Street, where glistening Louis Vuitton and Prada bags try to lure you in as you walk past shop windows.  more

The Economy According to Recruiters

Forget global economic indicators, non-farm payroll numbers or figures about the consumer sentiment in the Bible Belt. All it takes to know how the economy is doing is a cold call by your friendly neighbourhood recruiter.  more
